When I was a seminary student in Austin, Texas, I discovered "art-making" to be quite therapeutic and also a way to process what I was learning. I especially took delight with watercolor paints. Here are a few creations from that time.

"Pools of Thought"Okay, this one is not from seminary. In out tiny apartment in Austin I used to hang a piece of watercolor paper above the kitchen sink. I would add things to it gradually. This image became playful, almost sing-song. So I added the lyrics to a nursery rhyme one of the teachers at the Wesley School used to sing to the infants.
When I started seminary and studied theology, I fell in love with the gospel stories leading up to Jesus' birth. I love the encounter between Mary and Elizabeth when Elizabeth calls Mary "Blessed among Women" and says that the child in her womb leapt for joy when Mary arrived.

I love love love "She is a Tree of Life" - but you probably knew I would :). Again, I'm inspired by you.
